On this job I was asked to paint a lounge, dinner, study, hall/stairs/landing, bedroom, walls, ceiling, radiators and plenty of woodwork. It was a big four bed house located in Chesterfield, which, for a one man band was quite the undertaking.
Job Description
This was a big job in a large four bed house. It consisted of an adjoined lounge and dinner that needed the walls and ceiling stripping of existing wallpaper, making good and painting. This proved to be quite a lot of work, not only did every surface require stripping but it all needed making good after. The house was built in the late 80s and I think when it was first painted the mist coat hadn’t been applied properly. This meant the paintwork under the wallpaper peeled badly as there wasn’t proper adhesion in the first place. Plenty of preparation later which included a coat of Zinsser Gardz to seal things up and they were ready for paint. There were quite a lot of stained doors that the the customer wanted painting white, along with some window frames and the staircase panelling and balustrade. My go to on this is Zinsser BIN as a primer, two coats, then a undercoat and two top coats of Satinwood were used. Again it was a lot of work but by the time I had finished it looked amazing, both myself and the customer were really happy with it.
