Our home serves as our most cherished asset but they also endure the brunt of our busy schedules. Over time, the once-pristine walls can start to show signs of wear, leaving behind a tired and dated appearance. I know living in a home that no longer reflects the aesthetics and personality that resonate with us can be disheartening.

Frequently asked questions

Let’s address your questions before they become concerns. I’ve gathered the most common questions from homeowners like you. Can’t find what you’re looking for? I’m always here to help – just get in contact with me.

There is no easy answer to this question as each job varies so much. I charge my labour at £35 p/h I have a brush in my hand. So an average size room that takes three days to paint would cost around £775 plus materials of around £150-200. A total of around £975.

My typical lead time is anything from 2 to 3 months, although it can be shorter. It’s best to get in touch sooner rather than later to guarantee you get my next available time slot.

Again there is no easy answer to this question as it varies depending on the job. I will let you know on the estimate how long I think it will take to give you an idea.

I supply the paint. I have my prefered brands and products I like to work with as I know they give a level of finish I am happy with. If you want to supply the paint that’s not a but I don’t cover the finish with my satisfaction guarantee.

You should empty the room as much as possible. I require you remove all small and fragile objects. Any ornaments, soft furnishings and picture frames. Any nails that are removed I will fill, any that are left I will keep in place. I can work round larger heavier objects but bear in mind they slow me down which means you pay for it in the long run.

As any decorator worth there salt will tell you getting a good finish relies on excellent preparation, it’s half the job. The preparation process depends on what work is to be done but as standard all surfaces recieve a sanding down with my dustless sanding system. I patch any holes, cracks, or imperfections on the walls using a fine filler. Caulk any woodwork that requires it. Finally wipe down any surfaces to remove the remaining dust, dirt or grease.

I paint all common features you will find in your home. Plaster walls and ceilings. Wooden skirting boards, doors and architrave. Metal radiators.

Cleaning up after yourself is part of my professional responsibility. I aim to leave your home in the condition I find it. By making the overall experience more pleasant for you I hope to build trust and show I really do care about doing a good job.

Honesty, integrity, and keeping promises are essential qualities in any professional and I take these three things seriously when I go about my work. Sticking to my word demonstrates reliability, and shows respect for your time and investment. If there are any changes or unforeseen circumstances during the project, I’m honest and communicate openly with you, keeping you informed and discussing any necessary adjustments that are required.

Delays can and do happen but it’s how you deal with them that makes the difference. I believe transparency is the best approach. As soon as I become aware of a potential delay, I will inform you immediately. I’ll explain the reason and give you a revised timeline. Above all I will maintain a positive attitude and deliver on further commitments.

I charge a deposit of 25% of the total estimate. This secures your place in my next available slot and covers the cost of material purchase.

Unfortunately not. My pricing is based on my business costs and what I consider to be a fair and reasonable living for the work I do. It’s hard to compare one business to another as everyone runs their business slightly differently. As I have no idea what has been taken into account with the other quote I can’t match anyone elses price.

I only have one job going on at any one time. This means in all but very rare circumstances when I start on your job I will stay on it every consecutive work day untill it’s finished. Juggling jobs can be stressful for me and lower customer satisfaction levels for you which I would want to avoid at all costs. If I do need to have a day off I will give you as much notice as possbile.

I work hard to exceed my customers expectations. To assure you I’m reliable you can read my testimonials from previous clients and have a look at pictures from completed jobs. If required I’m happy to supply references so you can talk to past clients yourself and inquire about their experince with me.
